ROVANIEMI AT FIRST SNOW
Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland and the official hometown of Santa Claus. Located in the southern part of Lapland, it is easily accessible by train, bus or plane from Helsinki. Rovaniemi is also a special off-season destination during the Early Winter season when the first snowfalls and cold waves are coming to Lapland! Between mid-October and early December, a white blanket covers city streets and the surrounding forests, creating an enchanting atmosphere. At this time of year, Rovaniemi is truly worth a visit: the city transforms into a peaceful winter wonderland with plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. The long nights offer perfect conditions to witness the first Northern Lights, a magical way to experience the beauty of Lapland in early winter.
