Our Winter Holiday Week in Lapland is a package including accommodation in one of our private chalets in the middle of the forest, as well as seven unmissable winter outdoor activities with a professional and private guide. It also includes airport transfers from Kittilä, and a grocery shopping session in a local supermarket. You may add extra activities and services to the package as well.
You will spend your holiday in a peaceful area next to the Pallas-Yllästunturi National park, famous for its clean air and beautiful landscapes. The wilderness is right at your doorstep! You can access cross-country skiing tracks from right outside the cabin or enjoy private outdoor hot tub & sauna at your chalet.
During your stay, you will enjoy our carefully crafted activity program, which brings together winter outdoor activities, getting to know arctic animals, and discovering local culture and cuisine. All this with a personal guide, who will make sure that the experiences are adapted to your needs. We also included free days in your programme for a more balanced holiday, but we can organise extra activities for you during that time if you wish – this is your holiday!

SMALL FAMILY COTTAGE – SUVANTO
Welcome to our comfortable wooden cottage located on the shore of a river, and in the middle of beautiful Lappish nature. Pallas-Yllästunturi national park begins just at your doorstep, and this is where your guide will take you to experience arctic outdoor activities.
The chalet has 2 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a sauna. It’s ideal for couples, small families, and small groups of friends. The cottage has a double bed (alcove on the ground floor) and a twin bedroom upstairs. A sofa bed in the living room can accommodate one more person, so the chalet is adapted for a maximum of 5 people.
LARGE COTTAGE – LAINIOKOSKI
Welcome to our comfortable wooden cottage located on the shore of a river, and in the middle of beautiful Lappish nature. Pallas-Yllästunturi national park begins just at your doorstep, and this is where your guide will take you to experience arctic outdoor activities.
The chalet has 3 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a sauna. It’s ideal for larger or multi-generation families, and groups of friends. The cottage has a double bed (bedroom on the ground floor) and two twin bedrooms upstairs. There are 2 more single beds available on the alcove upstairs, so the chalet is adapted for a maximum of 8 people.

All activities displayed in a dark blue colour are included in the package. Extra activities (which are available as a supplement) are displayed in light blue.
You can add one or more extra activities, but you don’t have to add any if you do not want to.
Once you make a booking, you will have a possibility to add extra options. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or if you would like to further customise the programme!
INFORMATION
PLEASE NOTE
We require a minimum of 2 adult participants for the package to operate.
Accommodation is in independent wooden cottages, and saunas (2-3 participants) are available in each cottage. The use of the hot tub (for 4 -5 people) is subject to a fee payment, because it needs to be prepared by your guide for at least 4 hours before (the hot tub can then be used for 2 to 3 days). Wi-Fi is available in the cottages. Cross-country ski tracks of the National Park are accessible directly from the yard.
We will organise the activity programme according to your requests and based on the remaining availability. Our dedicated team will always review the program in order to make it as easy and adjusted as possible, so that the activities are scheduled in a smart way during the week. The program schedule will be sent along after the booking is received and can be adapted. During the holidays, you can proceed to some adjustments of the program too, in agreement with your guide, for example due to weather conditions or to address the physical abilities of the group.
The Northern Lights Hunting Tour with Photos is scheduled on the first possible night, but can be later planned on any other night if the conditions are better : you can make the decision together with your guide, so as to increase the chance of observation. Northern Lights can be observed directly from the cottages too on other nights, if the sky is clear.
All tours are operated on a private basis, and are led by a professional guide of Nordic Odyssey, with an exception of the snowmobile tour which is organised in open groups by our trusted partners. For some experiences such as reindeer rides and husky rides, we organize them in collaboration with herders/mushers – therefore the experience cannot be guaranteed as private as we cannot guarantee that other guests do not join the tour. However, the group should never exceed a reasonable small size. If you would prefer fully private activities, we can arrange it on request at extra costs – please contact us.
Child rate applies under 12 years old. For safety reasons, we may need to adjust the activities for young children so please contact us BEFORE booking so we can make sure that the activities are well adapted to kids. Minimum size for e-fatbike is 150cm (155cm min. for comfort) and 140cm for the child to sit as a passenger on a snowmobile (otherwise children sit in a sled pulled by the guide).
Transfers to/from Kittilä Airport are organized by your guide ; in case of late arrival or unexpected circumstances, we may organise a transfer by a taxi partner. Transfers to/from Rovaniemi are possible on request – please contact us.

CANCELLATION POLICY
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 20% if booking is cancelled 61 days or more before departure;
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 60 days or less before departure.

Northern lights photography hunting
This guided tour is a proper aurora hunting experience! We will depart from your chalet and drive in the most promising direction (based on a long analysis of the weather by your dedicated guide before the tour starts). We will stop as many times as needed to regularly check the sky and discover more of Lapland landscapes. You will receive all the pictrures in high quality after the holiday.

Snowshoeing to the top of a fell
Snowshoeing is a great way to immerse yourself in nature, because it allows you to go off the beaten path and get to places that you cannot reach by car or on foot. This snowshoe experience will offer your guide the opportunity to teach you more about the surrounding nature, local life, how to survive in the Arctic and so many other things. All of this while you climb to the top of the fell to enjoy panoramic views from the summit!

Husky adventure with a 10km safari
Embark on a unique adventure with your very own sled dog team! The safari lasts around 50 minutes and you are usually two per sled (one passenger and one driver), switching places half way for a complete experience. After the ride, you can spend time with the dogs – they love cuddles and photos! Mushers will also be happy to answer all your questions about their fluffy co-workers.

Ice fishing on a frozen lake
Ice fishing has been part of local culture in the Far North for centuries. Traditionnally it was one of the rare ways to get food in wintertime when the conditions are the roughest. You will be shown the basics of ice-fishing, how to drill your hole in the ice, and the different techniques to catch a fish. If you are lucky and get a good catch, your guide will even show you how to prepare it! The tour is combined with a snowshoe hike.

Reindeer farm visit with a 2km safari
Reindeer sleigh rides were traditionally a way of transportation for loads and passengers in Lapland. Nowadays, certain skillful herders continue training their most skilled reindeers to perpetuate this tradition. As you are enjoying a romantic ride, you will be taken through the forests and other typical snowy landscapes of Lapland.

Finnish cuisine workshop
Complete your Lappish experience with a local cuisine workshop prepared by your guide. Learn about what grows in Lappish forests, and how the locals use it to complement their diet. Try reindeer, salmon, and local squeeky cheese while preparing delicious meals together with your guide!

Private moment at the cottage
Snow Village visit by minivan or with skis
Visit Snow Village – a unique place built entirely from snow and ice. Rooms are decorated with snow and ice sculptures, and illuminated with colourfull lights to bring the arrangments together. The Village is located very close to your chalet, so if you are feeling adventurous, you can ask your guide to take you there with trekking skis!

Enjoy a Finnish sauna
Both our private chalets are equipped with a Finnish sauna, which you are free to use as many times as you want! Your guide will show you how to turn the stove on and give you advice about using the sauna like a local. Alternating the hot sauna with a cold shower (or, if you are brave, with a roll in the snow in front of your cabin) has been proven beneficial for the immunity system – a great bonus for this relaxing time!

Whether you’re a fan of motor sport, looking for a thrilling experience or just want to enjoy a ride to discover the Lappish countryside, this snowmobile tour is for you! Once you’re ready, you’ll set off on a circuit through the forests, crossing frozen lakes or rivers, depending on the time of year and the route taken.

Cross-country skiing in the national park
Cross-country skiing is one of the locals’ favourite activities in the wintertime and for a good reason – this gentle sport lets you glide through the snowy landscapes, breate in the fresh air, and feel the joy from moving outdoors. The chalets are located right next to the cross-country ski tracks, so you can start your adventure direclty from your cottage!

Electric fatbiking in the national park
Electric fat tire bikes are perfect for exploring the landscapes and can be used all year long! The electric engine of the bike makes it very easy and pleasant to ride, even with snowy conditions. The excursion is accessible for beginners – the tour is adapted to the levels of the participants, with different difficulty options.
