Reindeer & Husky Tour in Summer and Autumn

• Please dress appropriately for the weather, as conditions in Lapland can change quickly.  In summer, wear comfortable outdoor clothing, sturdy shoes and a light waterproof jacket. In autumn, choose warm layers, a waterproof jacket, sturdy shoes or boots, a hat and gloves.

Visiting an authentic reindeer farm offers much more than observing the animals from a distance. You meet local herders, learn how reindeer are cared for throughout the seasons, and discover how reindeer husbandry has shaped Lapland’s culture and way of life for generations. This personal interaction provides a more meaningful understanding of both the reindeer and the people whose lives remain closely connected to them.

The standard kennel visit focuses on meeting the huskies, spending time with the mushers and learning about the dogs’ training and everyday care. A cart ride is not included. When temperatures are cold enough for the dogs, normally from October, you can enjoy both activities during the same day. Yes. The tour is designed for adults and children aged four and older. Its relaxed pace, close interaction with the animals and absence of a physically demanding cart ride make it particularly suitable for families with younger children. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

This experience visits a carefully selected husky kennel and a traditional reindeer farm in Rovaniemi region. The exact locations are shared with confirmed guests. The one-way vehicle transfer from Rovaniemi to the activity starting point takes approximately 45 minutes. Round-trip transportation from Rovaniemi is included. This estimate refers only to the one-way journey by vehicle to the point where the activity begins. It does not include the activity itself.
