WHY YOU SHOULD WORK WITH US
AN ETHICAL COMPANY IN ROVANIEMI
At Nordic Odyssey, we believe in an ethical economic model that refuses mass tourism even in the very touristic hometown of Santa Claus. Our values are rooted in authenticity, sustainability, and connection — with nature, culture, and our adventurous travelers.
We operate only in small groups to ensure personalized service, minimal environmental impact, and deeper engagement with the Lapland destinations we explore. With a spirit of adventure and respect, we lead journeys that inspire, educate, and leave a positive footprint.
We are also one of the rare companies in Rovaniemi to invest our time, efforts and finances in developing an all-year, sustainable tourism, including summer & autumn seasons. We proudly provide long-term job careers and stability to our employees, while providing great rewarding job opportunities for seasonal workers too.
LABOUR LAW & WORKING CONDITIONS
We are fully committed to upholding labour laws and fair employment practices in every aspect of our operations. We ensure that all team members work in safe, respectful conditions with fair wages, reasonable hours, and full legal protections.
Our commitment reflects legal compliance with the Adventure Sector Collective Agreement, especially in terms of working hours, rest time, days off & holidays, overtime compensation, respect of private time, digital disconnection, and safety at all time!
We also pay all our employees a Premium Private Healthcare package at Mehillainen Medical Clinics, that covers accident happening on free time, dental care, specialists care, etc.
CONTINUOUS TRAINING & SELF-DEVELOPMENT
At Nordic Odyssey, we believe that learning never stops. We invest in continuous training programs to help our guide & office team grow professionally and personally. Our onboarding training programs ensure that each team member receives appropriate training in order to perform with excellence and deliver quality service.
In addition, we organize a 2-3 week intensive Guide School for our guide team members at the beginning of each season (Summer / Winter). Those high-quality course programs are intended to strengthen knowledge and improve skills in a multitude of areas related to Arctic conditions & Lapland life. These intensive workshops, combining theory and practice, cover a wide range of topics : Finnish history, astronomy, geology, photography, Northern lights sciences, fauna & flora, surviving skills, orienteering, fire-making & practices, local cuisine, outdoor camping, driving in icy conditions…
The company also covers the costs for the development of its employees : first aid courses, canoe instructor courses, hygiene pass, etc.
SEASONAL ACCOMMODATION
Finding seasonal accommodation may reveal a real challenge in a touristic town like Rovaniemi. We, at Nordic Odyssey, are committed to help our seasonal workers find decent accommodation. Unlike most companies in Lapland, we do not offer crowded housing, or shared bedrooms with no privacy at an expensive price. Instead, we assist our employees to ensure a good comfort of life and a worry-free season!
Our company can provide our own accommodation for seasonal workers or long-term working contracts for those who are willing to settle down in Rovaniemi.
AND MUCH MORE!
Working at Nordic Odyssey allows you to enjoy many other benefits, such as :
- extra bonus based on performance,
- end of season trip : every year, we organise a trip all together to a destination in Lapland to celebrate the success of another season!
- discounts on partners’ services (restaurants, bars, entertainment, tourism partners…)
- access to the company’s equipment : bikes, snowshoes, skis, camping gear…
- access to the company’s facilities : sauna, private accommodation…
- discount on our tours for families & friends

INTERNSHIP / TRAINEESHIP / STAGE
Are you passionate about travel and eager to gain hands-on experience in the adventure tourism industry? At Nordic Odyssey, our internship program offers a unique opportunity to learn from a dynamic team, contribute to real projects, and explore the world of small-group travel from the inside. If you’re curious, motivated, and ready for a journey of growth, we’d love to hear from you!
Every year we welcome one intern student in our company to contribute to their professional & practical development. Trainees / Interns are involved in the daily operations, and are given responsibilities in relation to their field of studies and a general project to conduct during their internship : creation of a new holiday package from scratch, development of new branding or social media strategy, or learning to become a guide…
Because we want to make the traineeship really interesting and professionally valuable, we do not accept more than one intern per season. The duration of the internship must also be 3-6 months in order to allow for a continuous project development.
THRIVE WITH US!
