• Participants must arrive suitably dressed for cold winter weather. We recommend wearing warm clothing, comfortable hiking shoes or winter boots, gloves, and beanies. Dressing in layers will help you stay comfortable throughout the tour.

Yes, when the ice and weather conditions allow it, your guide can prepare a swimming hole in the frozen lake. Ice swimming is completely optional. You may simply enjoy the wood-heated sauna and cool down outside in the fresh winter air or snow instead.

No previous snowshoeing experience is required. When snow conditions allow, your guide will show you how to fit and use the snowshoes before starting, and the route will be adapted to the group’s pace and abilities.

If there is not enough snow for snowshoeing, the activity will continue as a winter hike, with ice cleats provided when needed. A moderate level of fitness is recommended because the route follows natural winter terrain.

The one-way vehicle transfer from Rovaniemi to the activity starting point takes approximately 45 minutes. Round-trip transportation from Rovaniemi is included. This estimate refers only to the one-way journey by vehicle to the point where the activity begins. It does not include the activity itself.
