E-Bike Trip to the Reindeer Farm for Families (Private)

You will go on a unique trip to the reindeer farm with electric bikes. This is the perfect experience to discover the nature of Lapland and local culture at the reindeer farm, in a very eco-friendly way. With the bikes you will be able to go on all types of paths ; equipped with an electic engine and large tires, those big mountain bikes can take you easily on a multitude of circuits. The tour is also adapted to all levels. Our guide will always adapt the ride and the pace to the physical level of the group ; the groups are also kept private to allow for a more intimate and adapted experience.

During the ride to the farm you will go through forest and lappish nature for approximately 45 minutes. After that you will arrive at the Reindeer Farm for a very local experience.
Reindeer is probably the most iconic animal of Lapland, it has played a significant part in local traditional lifestyle. Meeting those lovely semi-wild animals is always a unique experience for anyone visiting Rovaniemi!

Enjoy a complete visit of an authentic reindeer farm, meet the herders and their animals, learn about their lifestyles and reindeer husbandry. As it is the first visit of the day, you will also get the chance to feed the reindeers with some of their favourite food directly from your hands. This is a great chance to approach the animals too, as reindeer are still very wild. After the feeding time, herders will take you in a kota, a traditional wooden house, to explain you more about their lifestyle around the fire. Cookies and hot drinks will also be served, as the herders answer all your questions.

After the visit of the farm, you will jump on your bikes again to ride back to Rovaniemi, using a different path. The total ride will be around 20 km, via easy forest trails and road cycling path. You should be back to Rovaniemi around 12:30, and keep your afternoon ready for more adventures!

ABOUT OUR BIKES

We offer adapted electric bikes for the whole family! Adults (160cm+) will ride on electric fatbikes, whereas teenagers (140cm – 160cm) and children (120cm – 140cm) will receive electric mountain bikes, which have smaller tires. Young children (smaller than 120cm, generally 6 years old and younger) will be comfortably places in a bike cart or trailer pulled by adults.
