• Participants must arrive suitably dressed for cold winter weather. We recommend wearing warm clothing, comfortable shoes or winter boots, gloves, and a hat. Dressing in layers will help you stay comfortable throughout the tour.
• The food and drinks listed in the tour inclusions are provided. We recommend eating a good meal before departure and bringing extra snacks and a bottle of water.

Finnish sausages and hot drinks are included during the tour. For a warmer and more memorable wilderness meal, upgrade to homemade Finnish salmon soup served beside the open fire beneath the Arctic sky. The soup is accompanied by local hot drinks and sweet snacks, creating a cosy pause during your private aurora hunt. The salmon soup experience costs €18 per person and should be requested in advance.

Yes. Your guide will photograph your group with a professional camera, allowing you to enjoy the experience without worrying about camera settings. There is no fixed limit on the number of photos. All successful images and portraits will be sent by email within the following days through a private high-resolution download link. When the Northern Lights appear, your guide will also take professional aurora portraits. Because visibility depends on weather and solar activity, aurora sightings and portraits cannot be guaranteed. Your guide will still capture memories of your tour and the surrounding landscape.

No. Northern Lights can never be guaranteed, and we prefer to be completely transparent about that. Successful observation depends on both aurora activity and having sufficiently clear skies, and these conditions can change quickly. Our guides therefore analyse several weather models, regional cloud movement, darkness and live space-weather data before each tour.

We publish our own human-reviewed Northern Lights forecast for Rovaniemi tonight, where you can see our guide team’s assessment of the evening and better understand what conditions are expected. We normally analyse an area of approximately 100 km around Rovaniemi, rather than relying on a single Kp number or automated aurora application.

When relevant, the guide discusses suitable options with participants, but makes the final decision for safety and practical reasons.
