Leave Rovaniemi behind and enter the quiet atmosphere of Arctic nature for fireside storytelling inside a traditional riverside kota. Settle beside the open fire as your guide brings old Finnish legends and tales to life in a setting far removed from a conventional city tour.
Travel through stories inspired by Finnish culture, traditions, local history, art and literature. The experience is interactive, giving you opportunities to ask questions, exchange ideas and discover memorable anecdotes about life in Lapland and the Far North.
While sharing the stories, your guide prepares pancakes directly over the open fire for you to enjoy. The combination of storytelling, conversation and the peaceful natural setting offers a warm and memorable way to understand Finland beyond the usual tourist experiences.

Please note
- The tour requires a minimum of two paying adults to operate. We reserve the right to cancel if the minimum group size is not reached or if weather conditions are unsafe.
- Solo travellers are welcome to join any confirmed departure at the standard price or book a private departure for an additional fee.
- The afternoon departure is reserved for families with children. The guide will adapt stories and narration to interest the smallest travellers.
- The evening departure is reserved for teenages and adults, with stories touching history, mythology and folklore.

Can I be picked up from my accommodation
Pickup is included in the tour price from the standard pickup locations listed below.
When booking, you can choose pickup or meet at the designated meeting point.
To reduce the environmental impact of unnecessary short-distance vehicle transfers, guests staying less than 750 m from the Nordic Odyssey office are required to meet directly at the office. Pickup is therefore not provided within this area.
Pickup is included within 8 km of Rovaniemi centre.
Pickup outside the standard area may be possible for an additional charge. A location on the route to the activity may sometimes be included at no extra cost.
If your accommodation is not listed, select the custom accommodation option during booking and enter the address. The pickup request is subject to confirmation.
