Reserve and rent your equipment online in just a few clicks! The equipment can be collected from our shop in the city centre of Rovaniemi or directly from our nautic bases. You may access them with or without your own vehicle!

You may then collect your watersport equipment directly at our Nordic Odyssey shop in the city centre (address : Jaakonkatu 4-6, 96200 Rovaniemi). Canoes will be ready in our nautic bases but you need to collect your paddles and safety equipment from our main office in city (10 min walking distance).

OUR ITINERARY SELECTION FROM ROVANIEMI CENTRE!
An easy trip around the islands of Rovaniemi (2-4 hours)
Enjoy an easy paddling experience around the islands of the Ounasjoki river. The little archipelago located ashore the Arktikum botanical garden offers a perfect playground and quiet waterways to enjoy the peacefulness of Lapland nature… accessible by foot from the city centre! You are very likely to encounter on your water birds, swans, wild horses or beautiful hidden sand beaches!
Departure : from our Arktikum nautic base. Collect your paddles and safety equipment from our office first.
Arrival : Same location as departure. After enjoying your paddling time, you can return your equipment to our office.
Transfers : no vehicle needed! You can collect your safety equipment & paddles from our office in city centre and walk to our Arktikum nautic base. If you have your own vehicle, you can park it in the parking behind the Arktikum Museum.
An all-day adventure down the river (5-7 hours)
Depart from our upstream base on Ounasjoki and paddle down the quiet waterways of the river to reach Rovaniemi centre! The paddling routes passes by different islands, follows a peaceful channel and ends in the archipelago of Rovaniemi. The adventure is doable for participants with a good fitness level and does not require any advanced technical skills (no rapids or fast moving waters although strong facing winds may be challenging). You may arrange your own transfers with your vehicle, or you may request an upstream transfer from us.
Departure : from our Ounasjoki nautic base. Collect your paddles and safety equipment from our office first in Rovaniemi city centre.
Arrival : Arktikum nautic base. After enjoying your paddling time, you can return your equipment to our office.
Transfers : You can collect your safety equipment & paddles from our office in city centre and then drive yourself to the start point. If you do not have your own vehicle, don’t worry! You can request a transfers from us.
Overnight canoeing tour (1,5 - 2 days)
Combine camping and canoeing by following this peaceful itinerary down to the centre of Rovaniemi. You will follow the river Kemijoki, with pine forest on both your sides. The route is perfect for a first overnight canoe trip, as there are no white waters and the current will help you paddle, especially at the beginning of the trip. Some of the islands will still be under the water in spring and early summer, so we recommend trying the route from mid-June for more camping possibilities. Bonus points? There is a sauna with a restaurant right at the end of the trail, where you can stop for a well-earned rest!
Departure : from Puurosenranta Lean-to Shelter at Vanttauskoski. Collect your paddles and safety equipment from our office first in Rovaniemi city centre.
Arrival : Arktikum nautic base. After enjoying your paddling time, you can return your equipment to our office.
Transfers : we can arrange the transfers of the canoes on a trailer to the departure point (50km). You will arrive in our nautic base in the city centre of Rovaniemi, where you can leave the canoes. You can park your vehicle in the parking of Arktikum, for example, which is located 500m from our nautic base.

Transfers : Our main office is based in Rovaniemi, so it is easier to arrange trailer transfers and equipment rental services in this region. There are many route options possible on different rivers if you would like to plan a multi-day trip (from 2 days to a week).
Equipment : in addition to open canoes or packrafts, we also rent all camping equipment (tents, sleeping bags, stove…) needed for a comfy expedition on the waters!

Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland and the official hometown of Santa Claus. Located in the southern part of Lapland, it is easily accessible by train, bus or plane from Helsinki.
