AUTHENTIC HUSKY EXPERIENCE
Set away from Rovaniemi, deep in the Lapland wilderness, this family-run kennel offers a truly private and authentic husky experience surrounded by snowy landscapes. First, we pick you up and provide warm winter gear to keep you comfortable. Then, you will head into the forest where friendly dogs and passionate mushers will welcome you. Before the ride begins, guides explain how to safely drive your own sled team in a simple and clear way.
Then, it is time to set off on a 6–10 km sled ride through the wilderness. The experience lasts depending on the snow and the dogs’ pace. Two people share a sled-one driving, one riding and you can switch halfway, so both get the full experience.
MEET THE HUSKIES
After the ride, you spend time with the dogs and get to know their personalities. They love attention, you can take photos, cuddle them, and relax in their company. Most sled dogs in Lapland are Alaskan Husky. They are energetic, friendly, and love running. Unlike Siberian huskies, they come in all shapes, sizes, and colors – each one unique, but all equally friendly and eager to go.
Afterward, you gather around a fire to warm up. At the same time, the mushers share their stories and knowledge. If you would like, you can also enjoy a traditional meal. The hosts prepare a homemade salmon soup, which gives you a real taste of local culture.

The experience is always private and the price applies to the entire group. The minimum age is 4 years old.This tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers, for people with heart conditions or with limited mobility.
Private Family rate: this rate applies to a group of up to 4 participants, including at least one adult and one child (aged 4 to 12 years old). It is offered considering that the excursion is carried out in an SUV-type vehicle (5 seats) rather than a minivan.
The mentioned duration of the safari is only indicative; the experience may last longer or shorter, depending on snow conditions or the animal’s good willing.
Only adults (18+) are allowed to drive the huskies during the safari. This rule is in place to protect both the participants and the animals involved.
It is ultimately up to the mushers to dispatch the participants in the sleighs to maximize performance and ensure a smooth sled ride. Their decision should be respected and trusted as they know what is best for their dogs.
Meeting Time & Pick up : Note that the pick up time is for information purpose; thus, the exact pick up time will be communicated to you via email the day before the experience. We offer the pick up and drop off service in a 8km range from the city center which includes for example Ounasvaara and Santa Claus Village. For ecological and logistical reasons don’t do pick up and drop off service for accommodations located less than 750 meters from our office in the city center (Jaakonkatu 4-6, 96200 Rovaniemi). Airport transfers or transfers from more than 8km from the city center may be arranged upon request at extra cost.

CANCELLATION POLICY
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 7 days or more before departure;
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled between 7 days and 24h before departure.
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 24h or less before departure.

Do not delete
Is it difficult to drive a dog sled, especially for a beginner?
Not at all! Driving the sled is accessible even for beginners. Our guides will provide full instructions and accompany you throughout the ride to ensure your comfort and safety. Usually, there are two people per sled: one driving and one as a passenger. You can (but don’t have to) switch roles halfway through the safari.
Is the husky sled (cart) experience possible in summer?
The husky sled (cart) experience is not available during summer, as it can be too warm for the dogs to run safely.
We usually start husky cart rides from October, or late September if the weather permits, when temperatures are cool enough to ensure the well-being of the huskies. However, during the summer months, you can still visit the husky kennel, meet the dogs, and learn more about their life, care, and training.
