Travel beyond Rovaniemi to an authentic reindeer farm surrounded by Lapland’s winter forests. Meet local herders whose families have worked with reindeer for generations, learn how sleigh reindeer are trained, and help harness your own animal before preparing for the journey.
Set off along a 7-kilometer forest trail, with approximately two hours spent traveling by reindeer sleigh. Two participants share each sleigh and, when snow conditions allow, may alternate between steering and riding as a passenger. Halfway through the safari, gather around an open fire for Finnish barbecue snacks and feed the reindeer some lichen.
Continue through the snowy forest before returning to the farm, following a different route when conditions permit. Enjoy time to take photographs and appreciate the peaceful surroundings before returning to Rovaniemi. The extended route offers a more immersive experience than a short sleigh ride, combining reindeer culture, traditional winter travel, and Lapland’s natural scenery.

When booking, you can choose pickup or meet at the designated meeting point.
To reduce the environmental impact of unnecessary short-distance vehicle transfers, guests staying less than 750 m from the Nordic Odyssey office are required to meet directly at the office. Pickup is therefore not provided within this area.
Pickup is included within 8 km of Rovaniemi centre.
Pickup outside the standard area may be possible for an additional charge. A location on the route to the activity may sometimes be included at no extra cost.
