E-bike Trip to Wilderness Cottage, Reindeer & Sauna (2 Days)

A SUSTAINABLE ADVENTURE IN LAPLAND

Discover Lapland in summer or autumn on a 2-day electric fatbike trip through the wilderness. This immersive tour includes a scenic ride to a traditional reindeer farm, a night in the wilderness cabin, and a relaxing session in a wood-fired lakeside sauna.

On the first morning, your guide will welcome you, introduce the itinerary, and help you get comfortable with your electric fatbike. Once ready, you will start your adventure in the early afternoon for a roughly 50km ride to a long-established reindeer farm. The ride takes you on easy cycling paths and safe roads through forests, and does not require specific mountain biking skills. Moreover, the electric assistance also helps you enjoy a comfortable but still sporty ride. Certainly, our guide will always adapt the ride and the pace to the physical level of the group ; the groups are also kept very small or private to allow for a more intimate and adapted experience.

MEET THE REINDEER

At the reindeer farm, you will meet probably the most iconic animals of Lapland, feed them, and learn about their importance for the locals. Inside a traditional kota hut, the herder will share stories and facts about their lifestyle around the fire and serve a homemade supper prepared on site. Meeting those lovely semi-wild animals is always a unique experience for anyone visiting Rovaniemi!

A PEACEFUL NIGHT IN THE HEART OF THE WILDERNESS 

After visiting the reindeer farm, you will ride to your next destination; to a traditional wilderness cottage. With no running water or electricity, it offers the perfect retreat into nature.

Your guide will lit the wood-burner in the sauna and give you more instructions on how to use it in the very Finnish way. There is also a pontoon that leads directly to the lake if you are brave enough to go in the water! It is extremely healthy to alternate hot sauna with fresh water. The cabin will have all what you need to spend a good night in the heart of the wilderness! All equipment will be provided, so you do not have to worry about anything but enjoying the moment!

Finally, in the next morning, after a good breakfast, you will jump back on the e-bikes and ride to Rovaniemi with a different route (approx. 60km). A lunch break around the open fire will be prepared halfway by your guide to complete this immersive experience in Finnish nature!
