Responsible choice
Begin with a private visit to a long-established reindeer farm, where you can meet and feed the animals while learning about reindeer husbandry. Local herders share stories about their work, traditions and a way of life passed down through generations in Lapland.
Continue deep into the forest to a traditional Finnish wilderness cabin, known locally as a mökki. Surrounded by peaceful nature, the cabin has no electricity or running water, offering an authentic escape from modern life. Your guide prepares the wood-fired sauna and explains how to enjoy this important Finnish tradition.
Relax in the private lakeside sauna before cooling off outside or taking an optional swim from the wooden pontoon. Hot drinks and biscuits are served while you enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The experience can also be extended with activities such as canoeing, fishing, swimming or berry picking, depending on the conditions.

Can I be picked up from my accommodation
Pickup is included in the tour price from the standard pickup locations listed below.
When booking, you can choose pickup or meet at the designated meeting point.
To reduce the environmental impact of unnecessary short-distance vehicle transfers, guests staying less than 750 m from the Nordic Odyssey office are required to meet directly at the office. Pickup is therefore not provided within this area.
Pickup is included within 8 km of Rovaniemi centre.
Pickup outside the standard area may be possible for an additional charge. A location on the route to the activity may sometimes be included at no extra cost.
If your accommodation is not listed, select the custom accommodation option during booking and enter the address. The pickup request is subject to confirmation.
