Snowshoeing Adventure by Night (Aurora Borealis Tour)

We recommend to book in advance, as this tour is very popular and availability may be limited in peak seasons.

A minimum of 2 paying adult participants is required for the trip to operate. We reserve the right to cancel the trip if the group is too small or because of dangerous weather conditions.

If you are a solo traveler, you are very welcome to join any departing trip at the standard price or we may organise the trip just for you at some extra costs (please contact us).

Child prices apply only to children under 12 years old. Children must be at least 10 years old and accompanied by one adult. The child rate only apply if the conditions of two paying adult participant is met. A certain amount of walking is involved. This tour is not accessible to children under 10 years old, pregnant travelers, people with heart conditions or with limited mobility.

This snowshoeing adventure by night is a great tour for those of you who want to experience the Northern lights with an extra nature activity. The snowshoeing + auroras combo is also a nice alternative to our famous Northern Lights Photography Hunting Experience from Rovaniemi , especially when the weather conditions are less promising: in case of snowfalls, you still get a memorable adventure into arctic wilderness!

ABOUT AURORA

Please note that this is not a Northern Lights hunt insofar as the activity focuses on the snowshoeing part in the arctic nature within one hour drive around Rovaniemi. The possibility to observe auroras is mostly dependent on good weather conditions. If the weather is promising in Rovaniemi, the snowshoeing adventure offers a good chance for aurora observation. If the weather is not promising in the Rovaniemi area, the chance to observe auroras is lower ; the activity will still take place to enjoy the snowshoeing adventure in nature. In this case, it is still possible to request an upgrade for a Northern Lights Photography Hunting (at extra cost) which usually travels much farther to find clear sky.

Meeting Time & Pick up : Note that the pick up time is for information purpose ; thus, the exact pick up time will be communicated to you via email the morning of the experience.  We offer free pick up and drop off services in a 8km range from the city center which includes for example Ounasvaara and Santa Claus Village. For ecological and logistical reasons, we may kindly ask you to walk directly to our office (Jaakonkatu 4-6, 96200 Rovaniemi) when your accommodation is located less than 500 meters from our Nordic Odyssey office in the city center. Airport transfers or transfers from more than 8km from the city center may be arranged upon request at extra cost.
