DISCOVER LAPLAND ON BACKCOUNTRY SKIS
Experience a memorable ski adventure on Altai skis ! Your guide will lead small groups away from Rovaniemi to explore Lapland wilderness, including forests, hills and snowy landscapes. Along the way, you might even spot or hear some animals such as reindeer or arctic hares…
Ski touring is an easy and enjoyable way to glide on deep snow, either on groomed trails or off the beaten track. The backcountry skis (called “sliding snowshoes” in Finnish) are equipped with skins, which let you hike uphill and slide downhill. They are perfect for both long Arctic expeditions and shorter day tours. With these skis, you can reach beautiful hidden places that cars or walking alone cannot access.
This 3h tour is ideal for beginners, less confident ski trekkers and travellers who have never used trekking skis before. You do not need any prior experience. However, a basic level of fitness is required, as you will hike a few kilometers through deep snow.

We recommend to book in advance, as availability may be limited during peak seasons.
A minimum of 2 paying adult participants is required for the trip to operate. We reserve the right to cancel the trip if the group is too small or because of bad weather conditions.
Solo travelers are welcome to join any scheduled trip at the standard price. Alternatively, we can organize a private trip for you at an additional cost; please contact us for details
Please dress appropriately according to the weather, with warm clothes, good winter boots, gloves, hats and thick socks. Professional winter overalls and boots are available to rent for 5€/set.
This tour involves walking 2–5 km in deep snow. It is not suitable for pregnant travelers, people with heart conditions, or those with limited mobility. Children under 12 years old are not permitted.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 7 days or more before departure;
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled between 7 days and 24h before departure.
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 24h or less before departure.
