Hiking trip to Korouoma Canyon & Auttiköngäs Waterfalls FROM ROVANIEMI

 KOROUOMA CANYON & AUTTIKÖNGÄS WATERFALLS 

The trip begins in Rovaniemi, where your outdoor guide will pick you up and drive you to the canyon and nature reserve of Korouoma (approximately 1.5 hours away).

Upon arrival, you will hike down into the canyon, surrounded by beautiful nature and picturesque cliffs. The protected reserve showcases stunning landscapes that change with the seasons, offering a unique experience.

The hike covers about 5 km through pine forests, down into the canyon, along the river, and past cliffs. Your guide will share their knowledge of the arctic nature and passion for Lapland throughout the journey. A delicious Finnish barbecue lunch will be provided to keep you warm and satisfied.

On the way back to Rovaniemi, you will visit Auttiköngäs to see the impressive waterfalls and surrounding gorge landscape. You can opt for a short walk to view the falls or extend the tour with a longer 5 km hike to an observation tower for an additional fee (30 euros/person).

IMPORTANT : The hike follows a 5km into the canyon with some portions being more tricky. Even though it does not require any specific technical skills, the hike still requires a certain physical condition and an ability to confidently walk long distances. For the comfort and security of the whole group, participants must guarantee to present a good physical condition and no mobility impairment. The hike is not recommended for children under 6.
