Hiking trip to Korouoma Canyon & Auttiköngäs Waterfalls FROM ROVANIEMI

 KOROUOMA CANYON & AUTTIKÖNGÄS WATERFALLS 

The trip starts in Rovaniemi, where your outdoor guide will pick you up and drive you to the canyon and nature reserve of Korouoma, located approximately 1.5 hours away.

Once you arrive, you hike down into the canyon, surrounded by beautiful nature and picturesque cliffs. The protected reserve showcases stunning landscapes that change with the seasons, offering a unique experience.

The hike covers about 5 km through pine forests, down into the canyon, along the river, and past cliffs. Throughout the journey, your guide share their knowledge of the arctic nature and passion for Lapland. To recharge, you enjoy a delicious Finnish barbecue lunch that keeps you warm and satisfied.

On the way back to Rovaniemi, you will visit Auttiköngäs to see the impressive waterfalls and surrounding gorge landscape. You can opt for a short walk to view the falls or extend the tour with a longer 5 km hike to an observation tower for an additional fee of 30 euros/person. IMPORTANT

The main hike follows a 5km trail into the canyon, with a few sections which can be more tricky. Although it does not require any specific technical skills, the hike still requires a certain physical condition and an ability to confidently walk long distances. For everyone’s comfort and safety, participants must be in good physical condition and free from mobility impairments. The hike is not recommended for children under six years old.
