ABOUT saariselkä
Located on the edge of pristine Urho Kekkonen National Park, Saariselkä has to offer a variety of experiences and activities to its visitors all year around. From downhill skiing to husky and snowmobile adventures in snowy winter, to nature hikings with the amazing views in summer and colourful autumn “ruska” time.
The closest and Finland’s northernmost airport in Ivalo is just 30 min away from Saariselkä, which also makes it easily reachable from Helsinki; but also by bus or private transfer from Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland (260 km). A lot of hotels, cottages and famous glass igloos can accommodate travellers, but it is recommended to book in advance in winter.
