Our Winter Holiday Week in Lapland is a package including accommodation in one of our private chalets in the middle of the forest, as well as seven unmissable winter outdoor activities with a professional and private guide. It also includes airport transfers from Kittilä, and a grocery shopping session in a local supermarket. You may add extra activities and services to the package as well.
You will spend your holiday in a peaceful area next to the Pallas-Yllästunturi National park, famous for its clean air and beautiful landscapes. The wilderness is right at your doorstep! You can access cross-country skiing tracks from right outside the cabin or enjoy private outdoor hot tub & sauna at your chalet.
During your stay, you will enjoy our carefully crafted activity program, which brings together winter outdoor activities, getting to know arctic animals, and discovering local culture and cuisine. All this with a personal guide, who will make sure that the experiences are adapted to your needs. We also included free days in your programme for a more balanced holiday, but we can organise extra activities for you during that time if you wish – this is your holiday!

SMALL FAMILY COTTAGE – SUVANTO
Welcome to our comfortable wooden cottage located on the shore of a river, and in the middle of beautiful Lappish nature. Pallas-Yllästunturi national park begins just at your doorstep, and this is where your guide will take you to experience arctic outdoor activities.
The chalet has 2 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a sauna. It’s ideal for couples, small families, and small groups of friends. The cottage has a double bed (alcove on the ground floor) and a twin bedroom upstairs. A sofa bed in the living room can accommodate one more person, so the chalet is adapted for a maximum of 5 people.
LARGE COTTAGE – LAINIOKOSKI
Welcome to our comfortable wooden cottage located on the shore of a river, and in the middle of beautiful Lappish nature. Pallas-Yllästunturi national park begins just at your doorstep, and this is where your guide will take you to experience arctic outdoor activities.
The chalet has 3 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a sauna. It’s ideal for larger or multi-generation families, and groups of friends. The cottage has a double bed (bedroom on the ground floor) and two twin bedrooms upstairs. There are 2 more single beds available on the alcove upstairs, so the chalet is adapted for a maximum of 8 people.

ABOUT YOUR WEEK PROGRAM
All activities displayed in a dark blue colour are included in the package. Extra activities (which are available as a supplement) are displayed in light blue.
You can add one or more extra activities, but you don’t have to add any if you do not want to.
Once you make a booking, you will have a possibility to add extra options. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or if you would like to further customise the programme!
INFORMATION
PLEASE NOTE
We require a minimum of 2 adult participants for the package to operate.
The child rate applies to children under 12 years old. To ensure safety and comfort for younger participants, we may need to adjust some activities. Please contact us before booking if you’re traveling with children, so we can make the necessary arrangements. The minimum height for riding an electric fat bike is 150 cm (or 155 cm for better comfort). Similarly, to sit as a passenger on a snowmobile, a child must be at least 140 cm tall. Otherwise, children below this height will travel safely in a sled pulled by the guide.
We provide transfers to/from Kittilä Airport and they are usually arranged by your guide. In case of late arrival or unexpected circumstances, we may organize the transfer via a trusted taxi partner. Transfers to/from Rovaniemi are also possible on request, please contact us in advance.
ACCOMMODATION
You will stay in independent wooden cottages, each equipped with a private sauna (for 2–3 people). A hot tub (for 4–5 people) is also available for an extra fee, as it must be prepared by your guide at least 4 hours in advance. Once ready, it can be enjoyed for 2 to 3 days. Each cottage has Wi-Fi, and you can access the National Park’s cross-country ski tracks directly from the yard.
ACTIVITY PROGRAMME
We will organize your activity programme based on your requests and the remaining availability. Our team will carefully adjust the schedule to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience throughout the week. You will receive a detailed programme after we confirm your booking. If needed, we can adapt the plan before and during your stay, for example, to fit weather conditions or better match the group’s physical abilities.
The Northern Lights Hunting Tour with Photos is scheduled on the first possible night, but your guide can reschedule it to another day in the week depending on the weather forecast. This flexibility helps maximize your chances of seeing the auroras. On other nights, you may also spot the Northern Lights directly from the cottage, as long as the sky is clear.
All tours are operated privately and led by a professional guide of Nordic Odyssey, except for the snowmobile tour, which takes place in open groups run by our trusted partners. For some experiences such as reindeer rides and husky rides, we collaborate with local herders and mushers. Although we cannot guarantee full privacy for these, the group size always remains small and respectful. If you prefer fully private experiences, we can organize them for you upon request and for an additional fee; just let us know in advance.

CANCELLATION POLICY
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 20% if booking is cancelled 61 days or more before departure;
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 60 days or less before departure.

NORTHERN LIGHTS PHOTOGRAPHY HUNTING
This guided tour is a proper aurora hunting experience! We will depart from your chalet and drive in the most promising direction (based on a long analysis of the weather by your dedicated guide before the tour starts). We will stop as many times as needed to regularly check the sky and discover more of Lapland landscapes. You will receive all the pictrures in high quality after the holiday.

SNOWSHOEING TO THE TOP OF A FELL
Snowshoeing is a great way to immerse yourself in nature, because it allows you to go off the beaten path and get to places that you cannot reach by car or on foot. This snowshoe experience will offer your guide the opportunity to teach you more about the surrounding nature, local life, how to survive in the Arctic and so many other things. All of this while you climb to the top of the fell to enjoy panoramic views from the summit!

HUSKY ADVENTURE WITH A 10KM SAFARI
Embark on a unique adventure with your very own sled dog team! The safari lasts around 50 minutes and you are usually two per sled (one passenger and one driver), switching places half way for a complete experience. After the ride, you can spend time with the dogs – they love cuddles and photos! Mushers will also be happy to answer all your questions about their fluffy co-workers.

ICE FISHING ON A FROZEN LAKE
Ice fishing has been part of local culture in the Far North for centuries. Traditionnally it was one of the rare ways to get food in wintertime when the conditions are the roughest. You will be shown the basics of ice-fishing, how to drill your hole in the ice, and the different techniques to catch a fish. If you are lucky and get a good catch, your guide will even show you how to prepare it! The tour is combined with a snowshoe hike.

REINDEER FARM WITH A 2KM SAFARI
Reindeer sleigh rides were traditionally a way of transportation for loads and passengers in Lapland. Nowadays, certain skillful herders continue training their most skilled reindeers to perpetuate this tradition. As you are enjoying a romantic ride, you will be taken through the forests and other typical snowy landscapes of Lapland.

SNOW VILLAGE VISIT BY MINIVAN OR WITH SKIS
Visit Snow Village – a unique place built entirely from snow and ice. Rooms are decorated with snow and ice sculptures, and illuminated with colourfull lights to bring the arrangments together. The Village is located very close to your chalet, so if you are feeling adventurous, you can ask your guide to take you there with trekking skis!

ENJOY A FINNISH SAUNA
Both our private chalets are equipped with a Finnish sauna, which you are free to use as many times as you want! Your guide will show you how to turn the stove on and give you advice about using the sauna like a local. Alternating the hot sauna with a cold shower (or, if you are brave, with a roll in the snow in front of your cabin) has been proven beneficial for the immunity system – a great bonus for this relaxing time!

Whether you’re a fan of motor sport, looking for a thrilling experience or just want to enjoy a ride to discover the Lappish countryside, this snowmobile tour is for you! CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING IN THE NATIONAL PARK
Cross-country skiing is one of the locals’ favourite activities in the wintertime and for a good reason – this gentle sport lets you glide through the snowy landscapes, breate in the fresh air, and feel the joy from moving outdoors. The chalets are located right next to the cross-country ski tracks, so you can start your adventure direclty from your cottage!

Electric fat tire bikes are perfect for exploring the landscapes and can be used all year long! The electric engine of the bike makes it very easy and pleasant to ride, even with snowy conditions.
