ITINERARY
This one-week snowmobile trip is made for those who are looking for a more challenging multi-day safari with a character of an expedition through the arctic wilderness. Due to the physical nature of the trip and the long driving distances, a good physical condition and prior driving experience are strongly recommended.
The tour plan listed here is a preliminary plan. The length of the daily stages as well as the course of the route may vary depending on factors beyond our control, such as weather conditions, the trafficability of the routes, snow conditions, or the presence of reindeer herds.

ONE WEEK TOUR
December – February
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KIRUNA
Upon arrival in Kiruna, you will be picked up by your guide and transferred to our camp near Jukkasjärvi. Your guide will warmly welcome you and provide you with complete winter clothing for the tour. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner served in our traditional kåta (Lappish wooden hut). Afterwards, your guide will brief you on the itinerary and explain all necessary safety precautions. You will also receive your snowmobile for the tour, equipped with a 140-litre luggage box.
Overnight stay: in a cozy 4-bed cabin at the camp
DAY 2: THE TRAIL TO LAPPEASUANDO
After breakfast and a short briefing, your snowmobile adventure begins. You will follow an old trail toward Lappeasuando, passing by the world-famous Icehotel, the first one ever built. Midway, you will stop near Svappavaara for a campfire lunch in the wilderness. Upon arrival in Lappeasuando, you will stay in comfortable 2-bed rooms. The camp features a sauna and showers. Dinner will be served at the on-site restaurant.
Distance: approx. 80 km
DAY 3: INTO THE HEART OF LAPLAND
Today’s route takes you from Lappeasuando to Killinge (approx. 80 km). You will ride through snowy forests, across frozen lakes and rivers, and over vast moorlands. Lunch will be enjoyed outdoors along the trail. In the afternoon, you may try ice fishing on the river before relaxing in the sauna.
Overnight stay: in a traditional Sami school hut with 4 beds in each cabin
Distance: approx. 80 km
DAY 4: OVER THE MOUNTAINS TO TJUONAJOK
After breakfast, you will leave Killinge and head toward Tjuonajokk, crossing rivers and mountain landscapes along the way. Dinner and breakfast are served in the local restaurant, and a sauna will be available for your evening relaxation.

Overnight stay: in a wilderness hut in Tjuonajokk
DAY 5: ALONG THE KALIX RIVER TO VÄKKÄRÄJÄRVI
Today’s route leads toward the Kebnekaise/Nikkaluokta area, following trails along the beautiful Kalix River. You will reach Camp Väkkäräjärvi after approximately 150 km of snowmobiling. At Väkkäräjärvi, you will stay in 4-bed cabins. Dinner is prepared by your local host, who lives here year-round. After dinner, enjoy the sauna, or, if you still have energy, try your luck at ice fishing on the lake.
Please note: Depending on weather, trail conditions, and the location of Sami reindeer herds, your guide may adjust the route based on the latest information from local authorities in Killinge.
DAY 6: RETURN TOWARD JUKKASJÄRVI
After breakfast, the journey continues toward the Jukkasjärvi area. Along the way, you will visit a Sami village and the Icehotel once more. Lunch will be served in the Sami village before returning to Väkkäräjärvi in the evening.
Distance: approx. 120–150 km.
Overnight stay: Camp Väkkäräjärvi
DAY 7: BACK TO BASE CAMP
After breakfast, you will depart from Väkkäräjärvi and head back to the base camp in Oinakka, where the adventure began. Once there, you will take care of your snowmobiles and equipment before enjoying a final dinner together in the kåta at base camp.

DAY 8: BACK TO BASE CAMP
Depending on your flight times, we may have the opportunity to visit Kiruna’s new town before departing.
ONE WEEK SAFARI TOUR
March – April
Discover the unique winter landscape of northern Scandinavia by snowmobile. We take you deep into one of Europe’s last true wilderness areas, where you will experience the untouched nature of the border region between Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Explore the vast tundra, snow-covered forests, breathtaking mountain scenery, and the spectacular landscapes north of the Arctic Circle.
Enjoy Nordic specialties and immerse yourself in the world of Sápmi. This tour offers a truly unique way to experience the raw and magical nature of Lapland.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KIRUNA

DAY 2: TOWARDS FINLAND
After breakfast and a safety briefing, we begin our adventure, following an old smuggler’s trail towards Finland. Along the way, we pass the world-famous Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi. We stop at the Sekkutoppa cabin for lunch, enjoyed outdoors over an open fire (weather permitting). In the afternoon, we continue to Soppero, where we stay overnight in 2–4 bed rooms. There is a sauna and showers available. Your guide prepares dinner.
Distance: approx. 75–80 km
DAY 3: TO KARESUANDO
Today we ride toward the Finnish border and end the day in Karesuando, just 100 meters from Finland. We travel through snowy forests, across frozen lakes and rivers, and over open moorlands. In the afternoon, there is an opportunity to try ice fishing on the river. Overnight stay in small 2–3 bed cabins or in the main house in Karesuando.
Distance: approx. 80–100 km
DAY 4: INTO FINLAND
We leave Karesuando and ride across the Könkämä River towards Kilpisjärvi in Finland. The stage offers wide Arctic landscapes and stunning views. Overnight in a beautiful timber cabin. Sauna available in the evening.
Distance: approx. 120 km
DAY 5: TRERIKSROSET & ARCTIC LANDSCAPES
Today’s route follows part of the Princess Victoria Trail and the Könkämä River towards Treriksröset, the unique point where Sweden, Finland, and Norway meet. Depending on weather, snow, trail conditions, and reindeer movements, your guide will choose one of three possible routes:
– Signal Valley down to the Norwegian coast
– Halti (Finland’s highest mountain, 1,400 m)
-Pältsa Plateau in the Scandinavian mountain range (Skanderna)
All alternatives cover approx. 80–130 km.
DAY 6: SWEDISH TUNDRA WILDERNESS
After breakfast, the journey continues toward the Jukkasjärvi area. Along the way, you will visit a Sami village and the Icehotel once more. Lunch will be served in the Sami village before returning to Väkkäräjärvi in the evening.
Distance: approx. 120–150 km
Overnight stay: Camp Väkkäräjärvi
DAY 7: BACK TO BASE CAMP
We return from Väkkäräjärvi to our base camp in Oinakka. On the way, we stop at the Icehotel and visit a Sami village. Back at camp, we take care of the snowmobiles and equipment. Farewell dinner in the Kåta.
DAY 8: DEPARTURE
Depending on flight times, we may visit Kiruna’s new town center before departure.

Thermal underwear, ski googles (don’t have to be expensive), sunglasses from March onwards, fleece clothing, light gloves, slippers to use inside huts.
PLEASE NOTE
We strongly recommend booking in advance, as availability may be limited during peak seasons. The trip is operated by experienced local partners, all skilled and certified snowmobile guides.
To ensure a high level of comfort, the tour is limited to 8-9 adult participants. Please note that a minimum of 3 participants is required for the tour to take place. For larger groups, feel free to contact us to discuss a tailored package.
Please come dressed appropriately, with warm inner layers and multiple pairs of socks. A complete packing list will be provided after your booking is confirmed.
All participants must hold a valid driving license. Please note that a deductible of 7,500 SEK applies in the event of damage or destruction of the snowmobile.
Please note that the itinerary may be subject to change depending on weather or terrain conditions.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 30% if booking is cancelled 61 days or more before departure;
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 60 days or less before departure.
