Dive into the untouched nature of Salla National Park, the 41st national park of Finland, established in 2022. On a private guided tour from Rovaniemi, explore its preserved forests on snowshoes or Altaï skis, away from the crowds.
This hidden gem offers spectacular views, including the vast, wild landscapes of neighboring Russia. Its snowy forests and serene scenery provide a glimpse of an authentic, pristine Arctic.
Hikes, usually between 4 and 8 km, lead to unique viewpoints while letting you enjoy the calm and preserved beauty of this exceptional place.
Because the tour is private, you are given the opportunity, when booking, to choose where you would like to live this adventure. Precisely, this particular scenary and pictures are located in Salla National Park (2h driving distance from Rovaniemi) but you may change destination.
Along the way, your outdoor guide will explain to you about your surroundings, the fauna and flora, footprints in the snow, etc. A break with an open fire will also allow you to grill a typical Finnish snack with hot beverages. This is a great opportunity for your guide to show you how to build a fire in arctic conditions and answer all your questions about Lapland.

When booking, you’ll have the choice between trekking skis and snowshoes. Snowshoes are easier to use on all terrains but are better suited for shorter distances. Altai skis let you glide smoothly over deep snow, allowing you to cover more ground at a faster pace; however, they can be a bit more challenging on hills and downhill sections. Regardless of your choice, both types of equipment are beginner-friendly, and your guide will tailor the trek to match your skill level.

Please note that a moderate amount of walking is involved. Therefore, this tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers, individuals with heart conditions, or those with limited mobility.
We suggest having a hearty meal before the activity and dressing warmly according to current weather conditions. CANCELLATION POLICY
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 7 days or more before departure;
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled between 7 days and 24h before departure.
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 24h or less before departure.
