Explore Lapland’s winter nature after dark on a private family snowshoeing and photography experience from Rovaniemi. Designed for families with young children, the tour combines an accessible outdoor adventure with stories about the aurora and the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights away from city lights.
Your guide selects the destination according to the weather, snow conditions, and aurora forecast, usually within approximately 45 minutes from Rovaniemi. After helping everyone adjust their snowshoes and headlamps, the guide leads your family through a quiet forest toward a frozen lake or open viewpoint. Child-sized snowshoes are available, the pace is adapted to your family, and younger children can rest in a small sled pulled by an adult. Hot berry juice and cookies are served during the tour.
Professional photography is included throughout the experience. Your guide will photograph your family during the nighttime adventure and take aurora portraits when the Northern Lights appear. All successful images will be sent by email within the following days through a private high-resolution download link. Aurora sightings and portraits depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

Pickup is included in the tour price from the standard pickup locations listed below.
When booking, you can choose pickup or meet at the designated meeting point.
To reduce the environmental impact of unnecessary short-distance vehicle transfers, guests staying less than 750 m from the Nordic Odyssey office are required to meet directly at the office. Pickup is therefore not provided within this area.
Pickup is included within 8 km of Rovaniemi centre.
Pickup outside the standard area may be possible for an additional charge. A location on the route to the activity may sometimes be included at no extra cost.
