DESCRIPTION
Located away from Rovaniemi, in the middle of Lapland wilderness, this familiy-sized kennel will offer you a unique experience in pure snowy landscapes.
After being picked up and given warm clothes, you will be transported to the kennel in the forests. Dogs and mushers will warmly welcome you. You will also be given driving instructions and be introduced to your own dog team.
Once ready, you will embark for a great 6-10km sleigh adventure! The safari lasts around 30 – 50 min (depending on the snow conditions and the speed mood of the dogs). You are usually two per sleigh (one passenger and one driver) and you can switch half-way: this way you can enjoy a complete experience during the safari!
After the safari, you can spend time with the dogs: they love cuddles and photos! Mushers will also be happy to answer your questions around a warming open fire.
About your dogteams : most of the sledding dogs in Lapland are Alaskan huskies, a mixed breed which is very performant in racing. Those friendly well-trained dogs love running, they even need it for their well-being. However, their appearance is not the same as Siberian huskies (dogs in the movies), since they originate from many crossbreeding, thus you will find dogs with all kinds of shapes, sizes, furs and colors !

We recommend to book in advance, as availability may be limited in peak seasons.
A minimum of 2 paying adult participants is required for the trip to operate. We reserve the right to cancel the trip if the group is too small or because of bad weather conditions.
If you are a solo traveler, you are very welcome to join any departing trip at the standard price or we may organise the trip just for you at some extra costs (please contact us).
Child prices apply only to children between 4 and 12 years old. Children under 4 years old are not accepted on this tour. Children must be accompanied by one adult. The child rate only apply if the conditions of two paying adult participant is met.
Please dress appropriately according to the weather, with warm clothes, good winter boots, gloves, hats and thick socks.
The mentioned duration of the safari is only indicative; the experience may last longer or shorter, depending on snow conditions or the animal’s good willing. It is important for safety reasons and to ensure that the experience runs smoothly.
This tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers, for people with heart conditions or with limited mobility.
Only adults (18+) are allowed to drive the huskies during the safari. This rule is in place to protect both the participants and the animals involved.
It is ultimately up to the mushers to dispatch the participants in the sleighs to maximize performance and ensure a smooth sled ride. Their decision should be respected and trusted as they know what is best for their dogs.

CANCELLATION POLICY
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 7 days or more before departure;
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled between 7 days and 24h before departure.
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 24h or less before departure.

Do not delete
Is it difficult to drive a dog sled, especially for a beginner?
Not at all! Driving the sled is accessible even for beginners. Our guides will provide full instructions and accompany you throughout the ride to ensure your comfort and safety. Usually, there are two people per sled: one driving and one as a passenger. You can (but don’t have to) switch roles halfway through the safari.
Is the husky sled (cart) experience possible in summer?
The husky sled (cart) experience is not available during summer, as it can be too warm for the dogs to run safely.
We usually start husky cart rides from October, or late September if the weather permits, when temperatures are cool enough to ensure the well-being of the huskies. However, during the summer months, you can still visit the husky kennel, meet the dogs, and learn more about their life, care, and training.
