Travel beyond Rovaniemi to a family-sized husky kennel in the Lapland wilderness. Meet the dogs and their mushers, learn about their personalities and discover why Alaskan huskies are particularly well suited to sledding. Their different sizes, colours and coats reflect the varied heritage of these athletic working dogs.
After a complete safety and driving introduction, meet your dog team and take control of the sled on a self-driven 6–10 km husky safari lasting approximately 30–50 minutes. One participant drives while the other travels as a passenger, with an opportunity to switch positions halfway. The exact route and riding time depend on snow conditions and the dogs’ pace.
After the safari, enjoy time with the huskies for photographs and cuddles before gathering around a warming open fire. Relax with a hot drink while the mushers answer your questions about the dogs’ training, daily routines and life at the kennel. This personal interaction makes the experience much more than simply a sled ride.

When booking, you can choose pickup or meet at the designated meeting point.
To reduce the environmental impact of unnecessary short-distance vehicle transfers, guests staying less than 750 m from the Nordic Odyssey office are required to meet directly at the office. Pickup is therefore not provided within this area.
Pickup is included within 8 km of Rovaniemi centre.
Pickup outside the standard area may be possible for an additional charge. A location on the route to the activity may sometimes be included at no extra cost.
