Reindeer Farm Visit & Ranua Wildlife Park

Visiting an authentic reindeer farm offers much more than observing the animals from a distance. You meet local herders, learn how reindeer are cared for throughout the seasons, and discover how reindeer husbandry has shaped Lapland’s culture and way of life for generations. This personal interaction provides a more meaningful understanding of both the reindeer and the people whose lives remain closely connected to them.

Ranua Wildlife Park is home to approximately 150 individual animals representing around 50 Arctic and northern species. These include Finland’s only polar bears, brown bears, wolves, lynxes, wolverines, Arctic foxes, otters, owls, moose, and wild forest reindeer. Because the animals can move freely within their habitats, seeing every species during one visit cannot be guaranteed.

Yes. The tour is ideal for families and enjoyable for visitors of all ages, offering children the excitement of seeing Arctic animals and adults the chance to learn more about northern wildlife. The route follows an outdoor forest trail.

This tour takes place at Ranua Wildlife Park in Ranua, Finnish Lapland. The one-way vehicle transfer from Rovaniemi to the activity starting point usually takes approximately 60–80 minutes. Round-trip transportation from Rovaniemi is included. This estimate refers only to the one-way journey by vehicle to the point where the activity begins. It does not include the activity itself.
