Meet Kati, a local reindeer herder whose family has worked with reindeer for generations. Visit her long-established family reindeer farm, meet and feed the animals, and learn how reindeer husbandry has shaped everyday life, traditions and livelihoods in Lapland.
Continue inside a traditional wooden kota for a hands-on reindeer handicraft workshop led by Kati. Learn how antler and tanned leather are used in local crafts before creating your own piece of jewellery from reindeer antler, leather cord and wooden beads. Your handmade creation is yours to keep as a personal souvenir from Lapland.
While you work, enjoy pancakes cooked over the open fire with homemade blueberry jam prepared by Kati’s family. Depending on the season, Kati may also demonstrate how reindeer hides are treated and used to create bags and accessories. A traditional wood-fired sauna can be added for a fully private extension to the experience.

- The tour requires a minimum of two paying adults to operate. We reserve the right to cancel if the minimum group size is not reached or if weather conditions are unsafe.
- Solo travellers are welcome to join any confirmed departure at the standard price or book a private departure for an additional fee.

Can I be picked up from my accommodation
Pickup is included in the tour price from the standard pickup locations listed below.
When booking, you can choose pickup or meet at the designated meeting point.
To reduce the environmental impact of unnecessary short-distance vehicle transfers, guests staying less than 750 m from the Nordic Odyssey office are required to meet directly at the office. Pickup is therefore not provided within this area.
Some locations outside the standard pickup area may have an additional charge. When applicable, it is stated in the pickup-location name.
If your accommodation is not listed, select the custom accommodation option during booking and enter the address. The pickup request is subject to confirmation.
