A UNIQUE ADVENTURE !
Let’s go for a unique trip on the frozen sea! You will leave Rovaniemi with your guide in the early afternoon, and head for approximately 1h30 in direction of the frozen sea. Once arrived, you will be introduced to some safety instructions and your backcountry ski equipment to which you will get more familiar. Once ready, you will feel the call of the adventure!
As you glide on the ice and snow to reach your destination for the night, an island located around 6.5 km from the continent, you might be able to spot some sea birds or little mammals. This experience is unique, it will allow you to enjoy the serenity and immensity of the surrounding landscape, as if you were walking in a frozen desert. The terrain being very flat, the trip is not too challenging either.
The coast of the Gulf of Bothnia is dotted with industrial and mining complexes, which unfortunately cannot be overlooked. However, this makes the trek more exotic, with the feeling of leaving the industrial world and entering a paradise of white silence.
At the end of the day, a wilderness hut with a sauna will be waiting for you on one of the island of the national park of the Bothnian Sea. Your guide will prepare dinner and breakfast to regain some strength, before you head back on skis the following day.

PLEASE NOTE
A minimum of 2 adult participants is required for the trip to operate. We do not recommend to have young children on this trip, because the skiing trip may be physically demanding.
The trip is always private for comfy reasons.
Transportation by minivan. One luggage and handbag per person allowed.
We recommend to book in advance, as availability may be limited in peak seasons. The trip departs from Rovaniemi.
Accommodation is private and booked for the whole group but the wooden cabins are not equipped with electricity and water (dry toilets).
Please dress appropriately with warm clothing that allows easy movement and breathing and bring your overnight toiletries.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 20% if booking is cancelled 61 days or more before departure;
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 60 days or less before departure.
