This tour is designed for those who want to discover a much larger portion of the beautiful Korouoma canyon and its frozen waterfalls, instead of the common short track where everybody goes!
This trip will lead you to Korouoma Reserve, located 1h30 away from Rovaniemi, to explore deep nature and unique Lapland landscapes. In the morning, your guide will pick you up, provide you with all equipment needed and drive you to the destination where the trek starts.
The purpose of this trip is to discover a larger part of Korouoma Canyon. The path will go first along the common track where most visitors walk (2-3km). Some of the most impressive frozen waterfalls are famous for ice-climbing, and you may spot some brave adventurers climbing the ice walls as you hiked along the canyon.
You will however continue deeper in the canyon, where nature is more untouched, and pass by some other waterfalls.
At the end of the day it will stop in a wilderness hut for the night. After a good fire and dinner, a good night will be waiting for you. Nights spent in wild refuges are always a unique and unforgettable experience, as you’ll be bundled up in your sleeping bag in the middle of snow-covered nature.
The second day, you will walk out of the canyon, make your way through white forests and frozen swamps to finally reach a clear path that leads to the starting point. During the trek, your guide will always be happy to share his knowledge and stories about the surroundings and local life.
You will be back to Rovaniemi the following day in early afternoon.

PLEASE NOTE
A minimum of 2 adult participants is required for the trip to operate. We do not recommend to have children on this trip, because the trip may be physically demanding.
This trip is limited to 6 people for logistic and comfort reasons. Transportation by minivan.
We recommend to book in advance, as availability may be limited in peak seasons. The trip departs and returns from/to Rovaniemi.
Please dress appropriately with warm clothing that allows easy movement and breathing and bring your overnight toiletries. Accommodation is in a wilderness hut if available. Wild camping is also possible if the hut is already used by another group of adventurers.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 20% if booking is cancelled 61 days or more before departure;
- We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 60 days or less before departure.
